Jeremy's Bio

Born with an interest of anything mechanical, and especially anything that flies, Jeremy got into radio controlled airplanes at the age of 10.  He has been an AMA member for 19 years.  Currently, Jeremy is employed by a nationwide company as an engineer.  He is a full scale pilot, and is more into R/C than ever.  "I thought once I started flying the real planes I would become bored with the models.  The opposite was true.  I have more fun with them now than ever, especially with the large-scale gas models becoming so much more affordable."

Jeremy moved to the Kansas City area in 1997 from Mason City, Iowa.  He attended the DeVry Institute of Technology for electronics.  He has been involved in many hobbies, including automotive work/repair, kart racing, modified midget racing, snowmobiling, motorcycles, drumming, shooting, computers, and cooking.

Jeremy's RC experience is diverse.  He began racing 1/10 scale electric and 1/8 scale gas cars before he was a teenager.  This entry into RC opened the door to airplanes.  "I started with a Royal Air 40T trainer.  Unfortunately the wings folded in straight and level flight when my instructor was at the controls.  (May have been due to an assembly error, at 10 years old.)  I then built a PT-40 which was a wonderful plane.  It was slightly modified by shortening the wing and removing some dihedral."

"Through the years I have been fortunate enough to fly some great planes.  One was a scratch built F-18 pusher prop.  It had retracts and looked very scale.  I also flew a Top Gun Models ducted fan F-15, powered by a Byron fan.  Both jets were built by a good friend of mine in Northern Iowa.  I now focus on the large-scale planes, with a 33% Ultimate 10-300, a Composite-Arf Extra 330 (2.6m 100cc), and hope to build a 40-42% plane soon.  That said, the Hangar-9 46% Ultimate has my eye as well!"

Jeremy loves an excuse to be outside, so he likes to travel, and is a regular to area campgrounds and fishing spots.  Coming from a very musical family, he has a deep appreciation for great music.  He attends many concerts, of a range which includes Mannheim Steamroller to Queensryche,  Sammy Hagar to Metallica.
